Certificate in Marine Engineering with 2 year’s work experience OR 

b. Diploma in Marine Engineering/ nautical science with 2-years’ work experience

c. ( FTC) Second mate foreign going or master class 3 plus 3 years as a second mate  or Marine Engineer Class 3; or Diploma in Marine Engineer with 3 years’ experience in the technical area of the post; or

d. Japanese teaching certificate/ Japanese class 5 trade certificate or

f. Fisherman with 8 years’ experience on Foreign Fishing Vessels.
